Working from Home

Today marks four weeks coined 'working from home'.   In addition to my daily deeds, I've had plenty of time to ponder, observe and evaluate life.

I believe Marianne Williamson said it best:  "I don't think it's naive to think we can learn to live like brothers on this planet; I think it's naive to think we can survive on this planet another hundred years if we do not."

As far as I'm concerned, we're living the aftermath of self absorption.  Add a pandemic to entitlement, a crumbling economy, distorted hierarchy and idiocy, we're in crisis.  For our generations, these are uncharted waters.

In the grande scheme of things, my opinion is irrelevant.  To be frank, so is yours.  I'm current on Tiger King.  My immunizations are up to date, sans flu shot.  I've quadruple checked the facts, followed the stats, debated the variables, weighted the theories.  All input and supposed expertise aside, I don't feel one particular 'issue' is responsible for our downfall.  Do you?  Regardless, we remain in crisis.  Somewhere between fact and fiction, the pros and the cons, lies reality.

Currently, there are many things at stake.  Let's start here . . . Normalcy.  Lives.  Businesses.  Jobs.  Systems.  Education.  Well being.  Security.  Homes.  Finances.  Disagreements.  Relationships.  Hearts.  Sobriety.  Mental health.  Sanity.  The list goes on.

On the flip side, lots to be thankful for . . . Democratic rights.  Freedom of expression.  Differences of opinions.  Essential workers and services.  Healthcare.  Technology.  Financial aide.  Quality time.  Connection.  Shift in priorities.  A reality check.

I believe this situation is an opportunity to check your shit at the door.  Seriously!  Crisis doesn't create character, it reveals it.  What will you choose to reveal?  Fear?  Hate?  Control?  Anger?  Judgement?  Envy?  Acceptance?  Understanding?  Leadership?  Grace?  Humility?  Pride?

As for me, I'm going to open-mindedly move forward in hope & patience for betterment of all mankind.  There shall be a latte in my hand, compassion in my heart and a big ole tip for my hairdresser (when save to see her), who I deem an essential service in ‘my’ world.

Regardless of our wants/needs, political beliefs, religious practices or socioeconomic background, this is our shared reality, let's not live in contempt.  Let's strive towards common good.

Cheers to a peaceful day.  I send you virtual hugs and a gentle reminder to you people . . . wash your damn hands.

My 2 Bits

And here we have . . . My 2 bits!

A pandemic is lurking. Period. End sentence.  Whatchy'all doing?

To be honest . . . I'm confused. Can't even tell which bandwagon some of y'all are on.  Some are reacting in fear.  Some are completely focused on the action of others; which is a great avoidance tactic by the way.  Most are ignoring FACTS.  Yep, facts!   Fear is one thing; leads to hysteria, TP shortages, ya get it.  Denial is another; keeps ya justified in your own beliefs, no matter how warped they are.  I believe we have a moral obligation to protect ourselves and others.  Some people are so self absorbed, it literally rattles my mind.  Know what??  This is an opportunity for life lessons and teaching personal accountability. If I was your mother, you'd all have known this by now. Geesh. As for the facts, scientifically they speak for themselves.

To little Johnny that sports have been canceled - simply stated, you'll survive.  Contrary to what's being fostered, these cancellations are NOT primarily about you.

To Johnny's mama - teach Johnny that the world does not revolve around him nor his accomplishment.  This should NOT be used an opportunity to breed entitlement.  Use caution with your words and please, teach Johnny to respect the decisions of others.

To the emergency and health care workers - I salute you!

To the retail and front line workers - thank you!  You're doing a mighty fine job.

To the elderly - please stay home. Your wellbeing is important. Time for others to take charge.

To those in a position of authority, leadership, social representation - I respect you.  I may not agree with you, but I can respect the time, vulnerability, research, care and concern put in to each decision currently being made.  Times are difficult.

To those in need - please ask for help.  There is no shame in asking for help be it financial, resources, assistance. Please speak.  There are kind, compassionate people out there and it’s their time to shine.

To those infected with this nasty bug - you are loved.  Please seek the help you need sooner than later.

To the immune compromised or people at high risk - you do you!  You know what you need to do. Don’t let Naysayer Nelly sway you looking after you.

To those travelling abroad - stay safe and please get your butts home.

To be clear, I know people (or personally may be) represented in each of the groupings above.

Time for some basic human decency and respect.  End rant. Over and out 💚

. . . all about perspective!

I snapped this pic @ 6:08 this Tuesday morn.

Upon first sight, I called it "Beautiful".
By mid day, I'd dubbed the picture "The Reason I'm Bitchy Today".

Naming a pic ‘twas a reminder that life really is about . . . perspective.

Had been a short night sleep due to my witchy werewolfy nature and a full moon.  Uggghhhhh!  Actually two nights of short sleep, but who's counting?  Morning started with enthusiasm and a positive perspective . . .  Beautiful!   By mid day. The tables had turned. Eek!!  I was tired and bitchy. Oops, didn’t mean to go there.  Reality check. Time to change perspective. Reminded myself that at any moment, you choose. That’s rights, CHOOSE your thoughts and your feelings, and your actions!  So off to the candy store. Lol. An afternoon walk, lil sugar fix and a fresh brewed Java was all it took, to change the glasses through which I was looking.  Moving forward when I’m feeling a lil grumpy, I shall remind myself that in order to change my perspective, I simply must . . . change my fucking glasses!!!  Perhaps you should, too???
